Normandy & Brittany, France

Enjoy some of the best villages of France on this Historic tour. We start our adventure in Giverny where Monet lived and was inspired for many of his works of art, including his renown Water Lily paintings. Then we will travel through the historic medieval town of Rouen that lies on the River Seine. This special town is known for its cathedral, where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake, and its stunning architecture of Timber Houses.

Heading west to the sea, we will venture into the quaint fishing village of Honfluer and work our way down the coast. This picturesque town is charming, and a destination spot for many travelers.
The next part of the tour includes a visit to  the region where the D-day beach landings of WWII occured, a significant turning point in the war. As we continue into Britanny we start at the most visited site in France, Mont St. Michel. This island has been a strategic point holding fortification since ancient times. It’s a site you do not want to miss.

We then continue south to the walled in fortress of Saint Malo and neighboring villages of Dinan and Dinard, where the history includes French privateers and pirates, and walk through cobblestone streets and explore the medieval attractions, including the Romanesque Basilica of St. Saviour, the Jacobins Theatre dating from 1224, the elaborate Gothic St Malo’s Church, and the Château de Dinan. We will drive then through the center of Brittany and over to the coast to enjoy the Atlantic beaches and tasteful cuisine featuring the best seafood the Atlantic Ocean has to offer at the seaside century old resort of La Baule.
