Sailing & Scuba Diving the Caribbean

Are you ready for some warm weather, deserted white sand beaches and water so blue?  We start this trip in St. Maarten.  Relaxing and getting used to the Caribbean pace we slow everything down!  A few days on this island and we are off scuba diving Ile Fourchue.  A small horseshoe shaped uninhabited island with views of St. Bart’s.  Plenty of diving for all you diehards!

Next, the remainder of the week is on St. Bart’s.  We anchored in a few places around the island starting with “Anse a Colombier”  diving the pinnacles and other dive sites in the area.  A few days here and it was time to party and relax on the island.  We anchored this time at Nikki Beach and Edan Rock.  Here you will hang out with Famous rock stars and movie stars.  We picked up mopeds and drove around the island for a couple of days hitting all the great beaches and restaurants.  Gustavia is the main port and city on the island where the streets are lined with shops, restaurants and bars.

We sailed back to St. Maarten to drop off scuba gear and load up on more provisions.  The next morning started early, 3:30 am, we pulled anchor and 13 hours later we were in the British Virgin island.  The scuba diving here included the wreck of the Rhone.

We sailed around these waters for another week stopping at Cooper Island for the night and up to the Bath’s on Virgin Gorda.  From there it was an easy sail around to the Bitter End and Saba Rock for another relaxing few days.

On our way to Jost Van Dyke we anchored at Sandy Spit for the night, an island smaller than a house.  We all swam in the warm blue waters around this sand pile with 2 palm trees and a few shrubs.

Jost Van Dyke is the boat party place.  We hung out at the Soggy Dollar Bar and listen and people watched up and down this small beach filled with barefoot bars and day cruisers.

Finally, the last stop was St. John in the American Virgin Islands for a few days.  This was the perfect place to end a vacation!!!
