Lech, Austria

For our next trip we are going to Lech and St. Anton in the Arlberg region of Austria. St. Anton is part of four interconnected resorts that make up the St. Anton, St. Christophe, Lech, and Zur complex. We have skied here many times before and know it intimately well. After many years of skiing at the best resorts in Europe we consider it to be the best place in the Alps for skiing. There are lots of different types of slopes and extremely varied terrain there. The off piste skiing is some of the best and easiest to access. This region also seems to get the most snow and has the most predictable snowfall in all the Alps.  The St. Anton, St. Christophe, Lech, and Zur resorts cover about 110,000 square acres of skiable terrain with over 86 chairlifts and gondolas. Compare this to all of the ski slopes in California which encompass about 15,000 square acres in total. The Tyrolean ambience and experience will never be forgotten. St, Anton is also referred to as the St. Tropez of the Alps and is considered to have the best Après Ski in all the Alps – and we agree. Our hotel will provide a real Tyrolean experience with authentic Tyrolean cuisine from the region. Below are details of our upcoming trip. All figures are an approximation, and based on paying your initial deposit by August 30th 2010. Reserving a spot on the trip after August 30th may result in slightly higher pricing. If you are interested please let us know as soon as possible as we are reserving rooms now and only have a limited amount of availability. Unlike past trips in which hotels typically will hold our rooms until October without an initial deposit, the hotel in St. Anton where we will be staying will only hold rooms for those people that have paid a deposit. This means if you don’t reserve your room early you could miss out on joining the group because we can’t hold extra rooms. A number of photos from past trips to the St. Anton area can be found on Alan Green’s Face book page (User name is Alan.green). We have also included some photos in the attachment. If you have never skied with us before please understand that organizing these trips is not a business for either Alan or I. We merely organize the trips so we can all have a great time, experience some incredible skiing, and enjoy old friendships as well as make new ones. The best part is we can do this for much less than it would cost to do the same type of trip in the Rockies.

At the beginning of the trip we will spend part of a day and one night in Munich which is where we will be flying in and out of. At the end of the trip we will spend 2 ½ days sightseeing in and around Munich. There will be skiers of all levels in the group. If you are interested in joining us please let us know as soon as you can. Below are details of the trip. If you wish to spend less time at the end of the trip in Munich please let us know and we can adjust the cost of the trip for you accordingly. Spending some time together sightseeing at the end of the trip is a good way to finish off the ski trip. additional information
