I wanted to thank you for a fantastic ski trip to St. Anton, Austria this year. It could not have been better organized. From the very start at Munich you gave all 20 of us multiple options to see and do things at our own pace but still managed to create an atmosphere of camaraderie that lasted throughout the trip. I do not know how you have amassed such a great knowledge of each and every location we visited along the way to St. Anton. It’s as if you actually have been there-done that in every town, restaurant and site. You guided us to the very best including the best slopes in the world! The fact that you were an integral part of the fun in the group as well as organized the trip made it more personal and enjoyable for me and I look forward to many more European ski adventures with you in the future. I have been going on trips that Alan Green has organized for well over 10 years now and I can’t say enough about how well organized they are and how much Alan has saved me in my travel costs. He always has an intimate working knowledge of the areas we have visited and works tirelessly to make the experience a memorable one for everyone. His demeanor is always positive and I have always had the greatest of my vacations when I have traveled on Alan’s trips. Because of Alan’s special understanding of the places we have traveled he always manages to find many unique attractions and sights in every place he has taken us to. Given the opportunity, I would travel on any one of We Planet Adventures tours. The reason I feel so strongly about this is because I have had a few opportunities to travel with Alan, and each time I have gone, my trip has been absolutely wonderful. On one of my trips that started off in Paris, I remember thinking that each day couldn’t get any better, but in actuality, it did. I loved waking up to a new and unexpected treasure. Alan has this innate ability to plan for the best experience, down the very last detail. Every phase of the trip has something delightful to make the event fun. Another reason I love these trips is due to the type of activities they include. I love being active, and the hiking is amazing in the Alps. I also feel completely safe with Alan’s ability to get around. On one skiing trip, the slopes were massive and I was amazed at how well Alan knew what the terrain was like, and which slopes were the best for each level of skier. Finally, I would have to say that I enjoyed the group dynamics. Having a leader with so much charisma and energy that manages to care for all of his “charges” is a gift, and Alan makes sure that everyone is well taken care of, and is having a good time. “I intended on going on a simple ski trip to Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy, with some friends and it turned out to be a trip of a lifetime, with side adventures to Venice and its neighboring islands of Burano and Murano. Though I may not have had a huge interest in museums, history, and culture, Alan opened the doors of opportunity with his vast knowledge of Italy, its culture, how to get places, what might be fun, and what to add to make the adventure even more memorable. He took pictures, made sure our transportation worked even when it didn’t (e.g., a morning fog blocking boat traffic), handled hotels (superb choices), and always gave us options, both as individuals and as a larger group. It turned out to be a trip of a lifetime with many new friends and stories galore! Having travelled to over 40 countries on dozens of arranged trips, this was easily the best run, value for the cost, and most importantly, the most fun!!”” After having gone an ‘Alan Green Trip’ the year before, I anticipated another good time ‘skiing’. This time he suggested St. Anton, Austria with the complementary side-trips to Munich, Salzburg, and environs, which by themselves, were amazing. This time, our crowd was even larger, and the logistics more challenging, for example having to deal with the time-sensitive and efficient trains. Moving about 30 people on and off subways and trains in mere seconds turned into an adventure that should have been stressful, but wasn’t, because of Alan’s organized and adaptive nature. We always felt safe, at ease, and could concentrate on just enjoying our next mini-adventure. The exploring was again highlighted by a combination of Alan’s knowledge of countries, cultures, and a wide variety of options to chose from. Coupled with the finest cuisine, it all created a series of great little moments, whose memories can still make me smile or laugh out loud! I can’t wait for next year’s trip. Every trip I take with We Planet Adventures and Alan leaves me with great memories, experiences, and new friends. After a decade of taking these informally guided adventures, I’m not sure whether I enjoy the actual trip experience more than the excitement of looking forward to “next-years” adventures. Though I am primarily attracted to these trips for high impact mountaineering experiences, I’m always surprised at how much I enjoy the more relaxed social settings and historical aspects of the adventure trips. I fully credit this to Alan’s enthusiasm and exceptional organizational skills. We Planet Adventures tours have an exceptional balance between cost and value. The accommodations and cuisine are typically 4-star at a great price. Alan has a true gift as a tour leader. He is a fascinating person with an enviable ability to connect with almost everyone on a personal basis. You’ll likely leave with a friend for life. Alan is a truly gifted story-teller with an exceptional working knowledge of travel, cultures, wine, cuisine, ………. After all these trips, I always wonder how he remembers all these details? Alan’s ability to adjust to group and individual needs combined with his intimate and personal understanding of the area and the people, have made virtually every trip an exceptional experience.
