Skiing France; Sightseeing Rome
This year our group met in Lyon France and enjoyed the amazing food this region has to offer. We walked around the cobble stone lined streets in this historic section of town and found a great Irish pub where our group mingled with the locals, drank a few beers and laughed the night away. A few days here and then a relaxing train ride to the French Alps. Everyone enjoyed skiing Val D’Isere for the week. With good snow conditions and the varied terrain we we able to get our fill of off piste skiing.
The second half of the adventure took us to one of the oldest cities in Europe, Rome. As we walked past the Colosseum we watched the winner of the Rome Marathon complete this grueling run. Another day was spent sightseeing the many ruins and taking in all the history this ancient city has to offer. As luck would have it, we spent St. Patricks day with 40 or so Irish men and ladies in an Irish Pub, drinking and singing songs while making new friends for life, or at least for that evening. How could a trip get any better? How about watching Pope Francis get inaugurated. Another wonderful trip with a great group of travelers!!!
